EMOTIA Escape Characters and Entities

EMOTIA Escape builds its cast around emotions: every player starts with Glee, six more emotion characters unlock with Emotes, each carries passive skills with their own unlock requirements, and each has a corrupted Emovil counterpart haunting the prison.

Roster

The playable cast

Seven characters are documented by the GameZebo walkthrough (August 11, 2026); Pepper arrives with the official September 23 update text.

Unlock economy

What characters cost

The unlock ladder is documented, which makes planning your first purchases straightforward.

125 → 250 → 500

Character unlocks step up with each purchase: first unlock 125 Emotes, second 250, then 500 (GameZebo). Your first unlock is roughly two Revive Tickets' worth of Emotes — worth it once your runs survive reliably.

Passive skills

each character has unique passive skills unlocked by specific in-game requirements (GameZebo) — each character is not just a skin. Skill nodes on the progression side add further buffs, giving two places to sink Emotes.

Team balance

a balanced team raises your odds of beating floor 10, where difficulty steps up (GameZebo) With six emotion roles plus the starter, a spread-out team covers more floor situations than doubling up on one favorite.

Dark mirrors

Emovils: the corrupted versions of the cast

Every emotion character has an evil variant in the prison — and the game leans on that pairing in its quests and puzzles.

What they are

Emovils are the evil variants of each character — they look glitchy and carry an evil aura (GameZebo)

The official September update text ties them to the new character directly: “How will Pepper take on the Emovils in the world of Emotia?” Emovil is the game's own term, not fan slang.

Where they appear

Daily Quests name-check the Emovil of Echo, and one device mini-game has you find the Emovil Nvee's silhouette with a torch

Emovils tend to hover around the purple devices and can attack you mid-mini-game — so on device-heavy floors, treat every mini-game as an interruption risk and keep an escape route in mind. See the Corrupted Emotians page for the full breakdown.

Growth

How the cast is growing

The Beta keeps adding faces — the two most recent updates both touched the character layer.

Pepper, the September addition

The official update text on September 23, 2026 introduced Pepper as “cranky yet brilliant” and trapped in the Emotion Prison — the first character the game announced through its own listing title ([New Character]) rather than through shop marketing. How Pepper is acquired in-game is one detail the community sources we checked have not yet documented; when a named source publishes it, the roster table above gets the row.

What [New Aura] changed

The October 1, 2026 update retitled the game to [New Aura] without a character paragraph, which points at a cosmetic or aura feature rather than a new playable face. Community documentation of the aura system has not settled yet — we list neither its effects nor prices until a source does.

Choosing

A documented way to pick your next unlock

No official tier rankings exist, so the honest approach is to plan from documented costs and your own failure points.
